Instructor Policies |
Announcements: I will post announcements weekly, usually early in the week. These announcements indicate upcoming due dates and notes important to your success in this course. You should READ these Announcements every week. I also recommend using the Blackboard app on your phone, with notifications, so that you immediately receive notices of new announcements for this class. Use your LSCPA email to communicate with me. Assignments: No emailed work is accepted. You must submit all of your assignments in Blackboard. Homework and/or quizzes will be given each week. The assignments will open by Monday and will be due by the following Monday night, except the last week of class. This is subject to change. LATE WORK will only be accepted after meeting with instructor no later than one week after due date. Due dates are given, and enough time is given to complete all work. NO EXCEPTIONS. Students are responsible for completing all assigned homework, including reading assignments and video watching, by the required due dates. A failure to follow oral and/or written instructions could result in a 0 being given for the assignment. There may be virtual meetings if needed. These meetings are not mandatory. I am using these meetings as an opportunity for you to ask questions about the reading material and/or any assignments given. If you need a virtual meeting you will need to email me to schedule one on TEAMS. Grades: All grades will be posted to your Blackboard under MyGrades. I will not discuss your grades over the phone or by e-mail. If you want to discuss your grades, you must schedule a virtual meeting on TEAMS or see me after class. Exams: Exams will be provided within a Blackboard examination window. The exams will be a hands on submission or timed test that is limited to 60 minutes maximum. Make-up exams will NOT be given. If you miss an exam your lowest test grade counts twice. If you miss two or more exams you will be assigned zeros as your lowest grade will be zero. There will be a final exam. All students must take the exam on the scheduled date, and time, and failure to do so will result in a 0 on the final exam. Feedback on specific exam questions will be given 24 hours after the exam is due. You must work alone while taking the exam. Cheating on exams is not acceptable and will be subject to violations of the Academic Dishonesty policy which could include failing the course. Textbooks/supplies: Every student MUST have their own copy of the required textbooks by the end of the first week of class. The student will still be responsible for any assignments given. There is a in house copy of the textbook in the Gates Library. You will also need supplies to take notes. Academic Dishonesty: Copying, stealing, and/or submitting someone else’s work including AI is considered a violation of the Academic Dishonesty policy. Academic Dishonesty of any kind will not be tolerated. A student violating this policy will receive a zero on any assignment (first offense); a second incidence of academic dishonesty will result in failure of the class and meeting with program coordinator and/or department chair. Software Requirements: If you are in an online course that is using a specific software, you MUST have the software available to you either on your home computer or you must use the open lab provided in the Madison Monroe building or Gates Library on campus. Reliable Internet access is required for all courses. Computer failure and lack of internet access are not acceptable excuses for missed assignments, projects, quizzes, or exams. There is access available on campus in the Library and the Madison Monroe building. DO NOT wait until the weekend or last minute to complete class work or exams. Do not complete assignments, quizzes, or exams on a phone or Chrome book as they will not submit properly. If you have a MAC computer it will be difficult to complete this course the book is formatted for a windows computer because that is what industry uses. "AI Tools in Our Course: This course recognizes that AI tools are increasingly part of the academic and professional landscape. You may use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot for brainstorming, outlining, or getting unstuck in your thinking process. However, the final written product must be substantively your own work. When you use AI in your process, you must include a brief appendix to your assignment that explains: 1) which tool you used, 2) what prompts you provided, and 3) how you incorporated or modified the AI-generated content. Using AI without this documentation will be considered an academic integrity violation." E-Mail/Voice Mail Etiquette: Students must use appropriate e-mail etiquette when corresponding with instructor; for example, complete sentences and a full subject line with your name and course name. Do not use slang or all caps this is a business professional environment. Voice mail messages should be clearly spoken identifying students name, course, and a return phone number. |

Attendance Policy |
Attendance Policy: Poor attendance is a leading reason for termination from a job in all areas of employment. With this factor in mind, the instructor monitors student attendance. In addition, attendance on a regular basis is necessary for proper skill development. Students must log into Blackboard and other software assigned at least two times per week. If you do not log into your Blackboard two times per week, you will be considered to have an absence. Absences will be reported to financial aid and other campus offices per their request. |

Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status.
